The goal of the READ programme is to provide participants with the knowledge to recognize negative behaviours linked to drug abuse to reduce their intention to use substances of abuse. The aim is to:
- Develop self awareness skills for emotional intelligence
- Develop decision making skills
- Provide age appropriate drug and health information
- Develop resistance skills
We offer READ programmes at three levels
- R.E.A.D Junior ages 5-7
- R.E.A.D in the Middle (Rory’s World) ages 8-11
- R.E.A.D Plus ages 12 – 17
The content in our READ Plus programme is extended to address issues such as HIV and stigma and discrimination.
