The 2026 Jamaica Global School-Based Student Health Survey (GSHS) was a school-based survey of students in Grades 7–12, typically attended by students aged 13–17 years.
A two-stage cluster sample design was used to produce data representative of all students in Grades 7–12 in Jamaica. In the first stage, 32 schools were selected with probability proportional to enrolment size. In the second stage, classes were randomly selected, and all students in the selected classes were eligible to participate.
The Jamaica GSHS measured the following areas: alcohol use, dietary behaviours, drug use, mental health, physical activity, protective factors, sexual behaviours, tobacco use, violence, and unintentional injury.
Students self-reported their responses to each question using a computer-scannable answer sheet.
