Smoke Free Spaces … Healthy Places
In commemoration of internationally celebrated World No Tobacco Day, this year, the NCDA will co-ordinate a signature drive campaign encouraging persons to say Thank you for Smoke Free Spaces! This campaign will seek to get 1,000,000,000 signatures from persons across the island. The signature drive will focus primary in communities and “sign here” booths will be set up in communities across the island.
This year’s theme Jamaican theme, “ Smoke Free Spaces… Healthy Places” targets the non-smoker being affected by second hand smoke. The Thanks Campaign will focus on the benefits of no smoking in public spaces on the
· Environment by reducing pollution to give us cleaner air to breathe
· Minimizing the effects from 2nd hand smoke
· Guaranteeing a healthier space for children to live and grow
