Step Up

Quit Programmes for Experimental Use – STEP UP

We have a programme for in-school participants that are experimenting with drugs but their use does not meet the clinical definition of addition.  This programme is called STEP UP.

These students are usually between the ages of 12-18 and have been referred to the programme through their school.

The programme provides regular counselling sessions and drug testing to its participants over a three-month period.

The goal of the programme is to provide access to help, strengthened school bonding, successful school experiences, factual information about drugs, development of social and life skills, development of self-knowledge and self-esteem, recognition of strong and safe relationships

The programme included individual, group and family sessions as well as sport, art and other social activities

We expect that at least 50% of our particpants will quit substance use by the end of the programme
